Verification Architect Role Overview: The Software Verification Architect is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of the connectivity functionality within Volvo Trucks. This role encompasses designing and implementing comprehensive verification strategies, frameworks, and processes to validate software functionality, performance, and security. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive understanding of software development, verification methodologies, and industry standards pertinent to the vehicle sector. Responsibilities begin with Yocto compilation and extend through Googletest unit-testing, pytest SIL and HIL testing, culminating in delivery to an Artifactory server. Managing collected test data, product delivery versions, and metadata is also an essential aspect of this position. Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Verification Strategies: Design and implement robust verification plans, including defining test methodologies, test environments, and verification metrics.
• Framework & Tool Development: Create and maintain verification frameworks, tools, and automated test suites to ensure efficient and thorough testing.
• Requirement Analysis: Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and product managers to comprehend software requirements and design verification tests that guarantee these requirements are met.
• Test Case Design: Assist in developing detailed test cases and scripts based on software specifications, use cases, edge scenarios, and previously identified faults.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all software releases meet quality standards, encompassing functionality, performance, reliability, and security.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the verification process and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and training to junior verification engineers and other team members on best practices and verification techniques.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of verification processes, test plans, and results. Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in verification methodologies, automated testing tools, and programming languages such as Python, C++ and Java
• Experience with CAN networking, Docker containerization, hypervisor virtualization, and hardware emulation. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for software verification and validation. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying and addressing complex software issues. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Leadership: Proven experience in leading verification projects or teams.
