The Driver Environment and Driver Assistance group consists of 14 skilled engineers divided into two teams. You would be part of the Driver Assistance team, which has the responsibility of the complete ADAS offer from Volvo Buses. The team consists of node/component owners, systems engineers/function owners and verification engineers, where everyone is driven by collaborating efficiently to develop the most competitive ADAS system for buses on the market!
What will you be doing? In recent years, the demand for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in all types of vehicles has constantly been increasing. However, with more complex software and electronics in our vehicles, new challenges arise, and complexity is increasing. You will be a key to reaching the solutions needed to our vision of zero accidents. As a Function owner in our team, your role would be to own several End User Functions in the area of Active Safety. This means that you will be the expert of your functions, and responsible to ensure that your function is correctly implemented end-to-end. This includes a responsibility to ensure the system design, requirement definition, functional safety and cybersecurity of your functions. However, we work as a team and support each other to complete the tasks we need for all our functions and components.
In parallel with owning a set of functions, you will also take the responsibility as Team Leader for the ADAS team. This means that you will lead and support the team through the day-to-day work, such as facilitating standups, sprint reviews and plannings, removing obstacles and managing risks, managing dependencies other teams and developing the team together with the System Owner and Group Manager.

You enjoy communicating with people on different levels in the organization, and you often identify potential improvements that you don’t mind driving. You like to create structure and processes in an unstructured environment, but you can also manage uncertainties or unclarities in the way forward. You are motivated by creating safer products and systems, and have probably worked in the area of ADAS, AD or similar. If the workload is high for some of your team members, you don’t mind supporting even if the area is new to you. You are perceived as a positive person who engages people around them.
Other qualifications for this role:
• You have a university degree within the Engineering context, such as Electrical, Software, Mechatronics or equivalent
• Function Owner and/or Systems Engineering experience
• Requirement documentation experience
• Previous leadership experience, such as a Scrum Master, project management role or similar
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies
• ISO26262 competence: FuSa knowledge and experience from work products such as HARA, FSC or Safety Case.
• Cybersecurity knowledge
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Previous Volvo Group Experience is a merit
