Volvo Group Connected Solutions is looking for a Product Information Writer Senior (Technical Information Specialist).
The Position: As a Technical Information Specialist within the Developer Portal team, you will play a key role in setting new standards for an exceptional developer experience. You will work with a team of talented Developers, Designers, Business Analysts, Product Managers and collaborate with other stakeholders to deliver content for our Developer Portals. Your expertise in working with technical documentation, particularly in software development, will ensure our developer resources are well-structured, consistent, clear, and maintainable.
Responsibilities: Information Simplification: Support in creating detailed, and engaging tutorials designed to guide end-users through every step of their developer journey. Review and publish documentation compiled by Product Development Teams across the organization. Help translate complex technical concepts into an easy-to-understand language for various audiences, including end-users, developers, and stakeholders.
Quality Assurance: Review and publish user manuals, API documentation, installation guides, and troubleshooting guides. Assess and modify content for clarity, grammar, and consistency, ensuring all documentation meets Volvo’s standards and guarantees a consistent experience.
Information Structure Design: Organize and structure information to ensure content is logically arranged, easily accessible, and aligns with business goals and user needs.
Metadata and Taxonomy: Define and manage metadata and taxonomy to improve searchability and content organization.
User Experience (UX): Collaborate with UX/UI Designers to create intuitive information retrieval systems that enhance developer and user experience, both for our Volvo colleagues and for our Developer Portal.
Usability Testing: Conduct usability testing to gather feedback and make data-driven improvements to information architecture.
Collaboration and communication: Collaborate closely with Product Development Teams, Engineers, Digital Product Owners, and other stakeholders to lead our journey towards developer self-service and to ensure accuracy and quality in documentation.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Develop and mainatain internal documentation guidelines while also contributing to a dynamic terminology database. Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to onboard Product Development Teams and promote the Developer Portal.

• A university degree in a relevant field and several years of experience in creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.
• A good understanding of information architecture principles as well as familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
Experience in complex global company is considered beneficial, as well as experience within the area of software development. We think you have experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, both technical experts and non-technical individuals. You hold a valid work permit for Sweden, if not an EU citizen. Fluent in English – both written and spoken. We have a hybrid work model that allows our co-workers to combine working in the office with working from home a few days each week.
