Lead level is a specialist in Supplier quality engineering area typically obtained through education and work experience (position typically requires 8 years or more relevant experience). Responsibilities typically include:
- Managing large projects or (end to end) processes with limited oversight from manager.
- Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower level professionals.
- Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
Purpose of these Specifications
• The Supplier Network Quality organization, belonging to Volvo Group Purchasing, is driving the global supplier base towards premium automotive quality standards and world class performance. One of the main responsibilities is to continuously improve the supplier base and the quality of purchased parts. The three main internal customers/brands for Supplier Network Quality in Europe are Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks and Volvo Bus.
• The objective of this consultation is to reinforce the team SNQ Energy Storage System, Hydrogen and Software as a Supplier Quality Engineer. The SQE has the responsibility to secure that supplier is managing the quality according to the Volvo expected level from the start to the end. He/she is quality assuring battery parts (cell, module, pack, electronics, software), processes and capacity at a daily basis. Often starting in concept phase and continuing until finished products, he/she is leading to high quality deliveries, meeting the requirements for our end-customers.
• This requisition will focus on a profile with good software quality assurance knowledge (Automotive-SPICE) combined with a good understanding of ESS system, and willing to learn and develop about hardware quality assurance for ESS production line.
• Some of these activities will take place at the supplier locations or in our production plants and at the Volvo offices. This will require frequent travelling (if sanitary situation allows it) and that the consultant takes a leading position, driving for results according to Volvo Group expectations.
Expected knowledge
- Preferred MSc or BSc in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Good knowledge in software development methods, ISO 26262 and ASPICE
- Experience from supplier quality engineering work within automotive business, driving hardware and/or software APQP and PPAP activities.
- Knowledge in battery cell assembly or in electronics assembly processes is needed (IPC A 610 certification, ESD, MSL) is beneficial
- Good knowledge of automotive quality standards and tools, such as IATF/ISO/TS 16949
- Good general technical knowledge, reading drawings and technical documents
- Good English communication skills, both orally and in writing, plus local language
- Ability to travel at frequent basis
