The team is developing the next generation Diagnostic Service Platform which is a key enabler for reinventing our digital experience in the Volvo Aftermarket world. The team is working agile in the true sense and is part of an agile release train where multiple teams work together to deliver new functionalities every 10 weeks. Being a system design engineer in our department gives you exposure and responsibilities that goes beyond the backlog.

Job Description
We are seeking a System Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a familiarity with DevSecOps and SaaS experience is preferred. As a System Design Engineer, you will work closely with product managers and engineers to gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources. Your main responsibility will be to document new or changing product functionality, reference guides, development principles and approaches, and Global Diagnostic Service Platform requirements. You will also be expected to understand and document the architectural overview of our products.


Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.

• Create clear and concise documentation, including reference guides and development principles and approaches.

•
Create and maintain system diagrams (i.e. sequence, component, data model)

• Understand and document the architectural overview of our products.

• Ensure that API specifications are documented according to industry standards.

• Define the lifecycle for maintaining and preserving product documentation.

• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.

• Help maintain and preserve the product documentation, making updates as needed.

• Perform Data Privacy and Cyber Security assessments together with technical experts

• Ensure that all documentation is written with excellent English language skills.


Qualifications:

• Familiarity with the DevSecOps;

• SaaS experience is preferred;

• Strong written communication skills in English;

• Attention to detail and ability to organize information effectively;

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams;

• Familiarity with API specifications document standards is a plus;
