Highly skilled Developer for Bluetooth at Volvo Cars
What are we doing? The department Infotainment, within Connected Experience product stream, is responsible for the development and enabling of Volvo Cars new Infotainment system powered by Android. Volvo Cars was the first company to team up with Google, developing a system together which re-thinks the nature of car infotainment, defined by a user-friendly interface and an unparalleled connectivity. What do we offer? You will join a highly skilled development team responsible for the Bluetooth connection between the phone and the car, the Bluetooth settings, the Bluetooth profiles such as Handsfree, Phone Book, Audio Distribution and Messages. It includes features such as auto-connect / disconnect phone and car. The team also have features related to eCall. We cooperate closely with UX/Design and Product Owner. The position is based in Lund.
Who are you? You are a very skilled software developer. You have worked with Android for several years. You can work on app level with user interface centric development, and you can go deeper down in the software layers. You are likely also comfortable with C or C++.
Quality thinking and taking ownership are parts of your characteristics and you naturally write testable and maintainable code. You are a true collaborator who feel comfortable handling complexity. You are used to working in cross functional teams where collaboration with for example interaction and graphic designers is a part of the day-to-day work.
What you need to bring with you
• M.Sc in Software Engineering or corresponding relevant experience
• Java/Kotlin app development
• Experience in working in the Android Framework
• Experience in Android stack and related development and build tools (Gradle and Soong build system)
• Writing automated unit and integration tests as a natural part of design and implementation
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Experience in working with Git/Gerrit/Jenkins tools
• Good communication skills, including in English (written and spoken)
• Swedish Driver’s license (B-level) is required to be able to do testing in cars
It is meritorious if you have experience of:
• AIDL and Android HAL
• C / C++ development
• Bluetooth
