Propulsion NVH engineer

What do we offer? The Propulsion NVH team is a part Driving Experience within Engineering at Volvo Cars Headquarters in Gothenburg. Driving Experience supports the strategic direction of “Freedom to move in a Personal, Sustainable & Safe way”. We organize competence in dynamic attributes such as vehicle dynamics, brake attributes, performance & drivability, road noise, wind noise, solidity, operational sound quality, audio & ANC performance, interactive sound design, trimmed body acoustics & dynamics and Propulsion NVH. In close collaboration with the design and release ARTs we take responsibility for the driving experience attributes for our end users.
What you’ll do
As a Propulsion NVH engineer at Propulsion NVH you will be part of a fantastic team that is responsible for the NVH attribute of Volvo´s next generation propulsion system. We work in all phases from early concept development to production follow up. We are a competence center that guide and support the design and release areas to secure that Volvos products fulfil our NVH requirements and customer expectations. We work with finite element analysis and multi body CAE on the powertrain installation, NVH testing and analysis in full vehicle environment and in semi anechoic powertrain test cells to support the propulsion system design and development. We work cross-functionally with the other attributes within driving experience center, Safety center, Sustainability center, the design and release areas and the propulsion and vehicle projects to secure a well-balanced and optimized product.
Your role as a Propulsion NVH engineer will be to support the propulsion system development by performing NVH measurements and analyses in test cell environment to support the propulsion system development or performing tests in vehicle environment to optimize the installation of the powertrain and verify the attribute level.
Do you fit the profile? We believe that the required skills and experience to fulfil the role are:
Required qualifications
• M.Sc. in mechanical engineering, technical acoustics, engineering physics or similar
• Minimum 4 years of experience from Propulsion NVH testing and analysis
• Experience from electric driveline NVH testing in propulsion NVH test cell or vehicle.
• Experienced use of Müller-BBM PAK measurement and analysis program
• Understand the value of combining test and CAE methods
• Driving license
