The mission of the Personal Driving Experience Center is to develop and deliver an excellent driver and passenger experience in all Volvo cars. The centre has the responsibility to ensure that all dynamic attributes such as Steering, Handling, Ride, Braking, Performance, Driveability, Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH) and Sound Quality are supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. The Vehicle Dynamics Concept Team has the responsibility to perform concept development, verification and support industrialization for all vehicle programs. We perform CAE analyses through simulation of ride, handling and steering attributes on component, system and full vehicle level. The team makes use of multiple simulation disciplines including Multi-Body-Simulation (Adams/Car), Software-In-the-Loop and Real-Time subjective assessments in our dynamic driving simulator. We work closely with surrounding attribute teams as well as design teams creating a dynamic work environment with a clear impact on future Volvo cars. As a senior Analysis Engineer you will be responsible for planning and performing physical development in prototypes, including analysis of results, recommendation of design changes and reporting. You will be a key member of our Driving Dynamics team ensuring that our future cars will meet Volvos high expectations in Ride, steering and handling. As part of our expanding team you will be working in a creative environment shaping tomorrow’s vehicles and future methods for Vehicle Dynamics.
Main responsibilities
• Lead a Tophat development, deliver tuning and character that matches Volvos DNA by tuning springs dampers etc.
• Tire development
• Performing development in prototype vehicles, analysis of results and proposals for improvements
• Together with the team balance attributes and define Volvos future products
Required qualifications
• Master of Science or higher education in Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mechatronics Engineering, Mathematics or similar
• Fluent in English, written and spoken
• Vehicle Dynamics Experience of tuning and verification in cars
• Driver’s license and Documented driving skills, such as test track license etc.
Meritorious
• Knowledge in dynamic modelling using Adams/Car or equivalent
• Experience in using driving simulators to develop future products
• Understanding of NVH and structure dynamics
