SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER SERVICES
General Services department:
The automotive industry is undergoing a rapid transformation with major technology shifts occurring. At Services, within Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we are taking significant steps to support the shift towards more services and new business models. We are now looking for a System Design Engineer in this area to further realize Volvo Group’s vision focusing more on services. We want to promote the creation of services that get the most of our customers’ operations in terms of productivity, efficiency, and profitability among others.
System Verification Engineer role: As System Design Engineer – also called System Leader – you will lead the work to design, develop and deploy solutions. You will do it together with other subject matter experts from around the company. You will be responsible for reviewing the customer needs, identifying possible technological solutions, analyzing, evaluating the options, and then anchoring the end solution with stakeholders around the company.
Experience/Skills:
You have 7-10 years of work experience within product development or system engineering. In terms of subject matter expertise, you have experience of working with embedded or mobile wireless systems. You understand Ethernet and CAN technology, and has experience of wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth or Software download OTA. Experience from commercial-vehicle transportation is advantageous as well as understanding of customer’s needs. You have good knowledge of agile way of working in a flexible environment. Applicants shall have a M.Sc. degree in Electrical & Electronics or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience.
