Looking for an experienced Embedded Software and Hardware Application Engineer
with experience of embedded software and hardware development, integration and verification. This person shall have the ability and interest to grow their network both internal and external with other AB Volvo brands. Volvo Buses is a small organization and you need to be proactive and self-motivated.
Main area of responsibility Technical ownership for the design, requirements, interfaces and quality assurance Write both SW & HW requirements for ECUs development and negotiate them with the suppliers Support estimations, including scope, time, and budget, as input to projects Contribute to cross-functional development work Contribute to technical roadmaps of different product areas within the department Support the team to develop and maintain WoW Connecting with Project Managers, System Owner and Suppliers in order to contribute to coordination and work deliveries
This is you B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in electrical/software engineering or equivalent Good knowledge of the application SW&HW development, integration and V3 Verification Good skills to analyze and recommend SW & HW solutions for ECUs Good in planning skills Good knowledge of Develop Product (DP) process and Develop Embedded Solution process Good communication and networking skills Good Knowledge in development tools for embedded SW development, integration and V3 verification T-shaping mindset
Meritorious A solid network within Volvo Group and knowledge of our system and processes
(position typically requires 10 years or more relevant experience)Perform functional development meaning requirement breakdown, software design, documentation, implementation, testing and verification. Specialize in a technical domain (Vehicle, HMI, Combustion, Engine After treatment, Electro mobility, Powertrain control, Control Theory, Mechatronic, Diagnostics) in which features are developed. Lead system engineering in a technical team and play an active role in the delivery. Integrate deliveries from others. Responsibility for securing quality and readiness before release. The deliveries are often focused on the early phases of the development cycle, developing technical roadmaps. Network across the organization, as well as influencing the work in the other sites. Develop acquired competence, as well as participate in the business development. On Expert level the employee is a recognized expert in Embedded Software Applications typically obtained through advanced education and work experience (position typically requires 10 years or more relevant experience).
- Experienced project lead and an established coach, mentor and educator to others in VG
- Known subject matter expert and a natural goto person for complex discipline related issues
- Strong Tshaped profile (either building deeper discipline excellence or developing mature generalist toolbox)
- Known product owner, often contributing to project roadmaps/strategies within context of industry trends
- Clear articulation of value creation by joining up the dots between their work and the TD/BA strategy.
