Senior Software Quality Leader, Battery Management System

Position Description Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be at the forefront of environmentally friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow. The Electromobility department combines the benefits of a large international company with the feeling of working at a small company. There is close collaboration between different parts of the organization from sales and purchasing to workshops and labs all located in the modern, inspiring facility that is CampX.
This is us, your new colleagues Supplier SW Integration team is part of the Battery Management System Section, which is responsible for the complete BMS – including the electronic hardware, electrical architecture, and the software for control and diagnostics of Energy Storage System (ESS). The team is responsible for the integration, testing and verification of the Battery Management System (BMS) SW from the suppliers. The team lead and coordinate the collaboration between suppliers and Volvo R&D teams, such as BMS function design team and HIL testing team. Colleagues in the team are experienced SW Component Owners and SW Integration Leaders.
We are now looking for new colleagues to join the BMS Supplier SW integration team as “Senior SW quality leader”, who will lead SW quality topics in from all our projects. What will you do?
• Be the main receiver at BMS Department for all SW quality topics
• Analyze and collect more data about the topics
• Analyze the logs, take new logs when needed, to identify the root cause

• Drive the solution (Cross functional work) by assigning actions to the corresponding teams (HW/SW internal/supplier).

• Document your findings in PIL, follow up the solution and later verify the fix when ready
• Follow up and monitor Product Change Request (PCR) work status at supplier side
• Communicate quality work status and the plan to corresponding project
• Join in projects meetings and quality meetings to report the status

• Collaborate with Volvo internal quality stakeholders, such as Quality and Customer Satisfaction (Q&CS) department about how to roll out the solutions, and possible containments actions.
Who are you? We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a team player with strong collaboration & networking skills and have an analytical and open can-do mindset. You also have the willingness to learn and take more responsibility, can handle many topics in parallel and structure in documentation work. Preferred background
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in control systems, embedded system, mechatronics, electronics and/or electrical engineering, signal processing, engineering physics, or equivalent.
• Over 8 years’ Experience from SW verification or SW quality work within automotive, even better with BMS SW.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Good leadership skills.
• Experience on supplier management
• Good skills in in-vehicle communication technologies (LIN, CAN, Ethernet, J1939, UDS protocol, etc.).
• Good skills in fault tracing.
• Good skill in log analysis (CANalyzer).
