System Engineer FO/FD/PM
What you will do: At Volvo Penta Technology you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. Motion Control, residing in the “Electronics & Software” organization has global responsibility for our motion control systems and functions. The work is performed in close co-operation in a multi-cultural environment with both internal and external contacts such as our different development sites around the world and suppliers.
We need to increase our capacity and strength with an experienced System Engineer for present and future products. Depending on your profile and experience your tasks might differ but the work will include practical work and testing in vessels.
The team is responsible for the electronic control system for the vessel and vehicle throughout all the phases in the product lifecycle. Our main responsibility is to develop and secure functions and behavior on complete vessel level but also how we should offer new and different functions and features to our customers.
The team creates and contributes to roadmaps for current and new products and solutions and is responsible for requirement, development, documentation, verification and validation of the system in product projects and maintenance phase as well as taking care of feedback from the market. A premium brand as Volvo Penta develops premium high-end products for our customer.
Your future team: Your future team consists of a group of experienced and skilled engineers. To us team spirit is about knowledge sharing, thus supporting and helping each other is therefore of high value. We work hard, but always have a positive, cheerful and inclusive atmosphere.
Who are you? We are looking for someone to join our team and we believe you are driven, innovative and you have a passion for problem solving. We also think you are open-minded and enjoy teamwork but at the same time you are able to work independently and drive development on your own. You can find and compile information/knowledge in a complex technical and structural environment to be able to drive, deliver and add value. You most likely have a genuine interest in the product domain of Volvo Penta. As a System Engineer you set requirements on both feature and functional level and align the technical solution with product planning and software developers.
A very important task for you as a System Engineer is to understand the logical functions and the needed interfaces within our own system but also to other systems. This means that you will be responsible for the complete development from specification to test and implementation of new functions and solutions.
You have experience from function and software development, verification, validation and user centric development. You are a positive and curious person that enjoy collaboration with many different colleges to find the needed answers.
Since we sometimes face mechanical challenges, it would be beneficial that you like mechanical problem solving. Knowledge in Volvo Tools is an advantage.
If you have a background in mechatronics and have developed your career towards embedded software/system development or if you are a senior embedded software/system developer / SWCO with a genuine interest in vessel dynamics you could be a perfect fit.
The location for the position is Gothenburg, Sweden.
