Test Leader for Computing Infrastructure System
Who we are:
Volvo Cars are on an exciting journey to expand its in-house software development capabilities. At the department Computing Infrastructure System (CIS), we are part of this aspiration. Our teams are building the next generation high-performance in-vehicle computers (“Core System”) , designed to host different vehicle applications, stretching from basic vehicle state machines to advance active safety and unsupervised autonomous drive functionalities.
We are now seeking a driven and experienced leader with a passion for test planning and test lead.
What you'll do: As a Test Leader in CIS, you will be responsible for driving the execution of our test strategy and coordinating test plans across our organisation. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our Core system will work together as expected and meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the testing efforts for our Core system, making a significant impact on the quality and success of release new SW to our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the Test Planning
- Develop test plans that encompass both software and hardware components in our Core system. Define testing objectives, scope, and timelines in alignment with project requirements.
• Secure Test Strategy execution
- Understand and lead teams according to our test strategies.
• Test Execution
- Lead the execution of test cases, utilizing both manual and automated testing techniques to verify/validate our product both in HIL rigs and in complete vehicles.
Monitor test progress, identify issues, and find quick solutions.
• Test Automation
- Continuously give feedback and suggest optimization of test automation processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand system designs and requirements, ensuring tests are aligned with development goals.
• Documentation
- Create and maintain documentation related to test plans and test verdicts.
Who you are: We believe that you have experience in SW testing and test automation in CI context, within automotive. You enjoy the possibility to influence, have analytical and organizational skills and you love to solve problems.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, mechatronics, Electrical and Software Engineering or similar relevant experience
• 7+ years of experience in automotive testing or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
• Deep understanding of automotive engineering, software testing methodologies, and quality assurance processes.
• Proficiency in test planning, test strategy development, and test execution methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools relevant to testing.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across many test teams.
• Leadership experience, with a track record of leading and mentor test teams and driving quality initiatives.
