The Electromobility function develops the electric propulsion system and its components such as batteries, electric motors and charging solutions for trucks, busses, and construction equipment. We are looking for new colleagues to the System Design group within Electric Propulsion Control.
The electric propulsion control team develops the embedded software, incl. release and integration, constituting the link between the electric management system and the mechanical propulsion system. This means delivering design, implementation, verification, and quality assurance for state-of-the-art traction voltage and propulsion functions for electrical vehicles. The team consists of Senior Embedded Software engineers, Product and specialist Function Owners and takes a holistic approach to balance features versus hardware boundaries and other limitations.
Responsibilities of the System Design Group
• Specification and breakdown of requirements, in close cooperation with function development teams, as well as with verification teams and other system design teams.
• Assure safety and reliability of our systems, through proactive methods including e.g.
ISO26262 and FMEA, but also by following up quality issues.
• Manage the communication network within the electric powertrain control system.
• Establish and maintain system documentation.
• Drive system design concept investigations
Description of work
Contribute within the system design team, specially focusing on managing the internal communication networks, with duties such as:
- Overall responsibility for the content in Electromobility internal control system communication networks, primarily CAN-networks but other technical solutions are likely to become relevant (e.g. Ethernet)
- Review and approval of requests for new or changed signaling.
- Contribute within configuration of signaling and communication networks.
- Coordination of network updates, this includes planning ahead and anticipating future needs.
- Stay updated and identify needs by networking with stakeholders, be the spider in the web.
- Assure quality by enforcing processes and contribute to continuous improvement of the processes.
- Assure safety and reliability through attention to detail, enforcement of standards, securing adequate network bus load, etc.
- Assure that needs from a wide product range are fulfilled, while securing maintainability over time, using platform solutions.
- Monitor technical development and standards, secure high level of technical knowledge in the team.
Qualifications
- MSc in the areas of Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering (or equivalent).
- Experience from function development and/or system engineering within automotive industry.
- Knowledge of Functional Safety standards within automotive industry
- Proficiency within automotive control system communication networks, such as CAN.
- High ability to think holistically, communicate and network.
