Our mission is to provide the best development toolchain in the automotive business for our Software Developers in Volvo Group Trucks Technology. And by this we can bring new products to the market quicker than our competition.

The team you will be working with is a DevOps team with high autonomy and freedom to operate. You are encouraged to find improvements in all areas of SW development and to spend the time to make things right from the start. Some examples of things you could be working with; Software Build Systems, Automation scripts, CI/CD improvements, adapt and include new tools int the development flow and many other things.

We are starting up a new team in this area. First in the backlog is a big feature to help our streams to adapt their current toolchain to use Targetlink for code generation. This is an example of what can be in the backlog of our new Tool support team.

The team is working according to the Agile/SCRUM principles with recurring sprint planning’s and a product backlog. The team is an integral part of the larger Software Factory group, also including a Continuous Integration team and a Continuous Delivery team.

Your role will be to lead this team as a Product Owner, you will be the driver in collecting the needs from our stakeholders and secure that we make a future proof solution that will support our way to a highly efficient toolchain for our software developers at Volvo Group Trucks Technology. This role requires a broad technical knowhow and the ability to build a good network to work with as we will provide solutions to many different stakeholders.
Here are listed some of the activities done in the team. But the operating area is very large and as stated earlier the first feature is to add support for Targetlink in the toolchains.

• Advance our development environment to be world class in speed and efficiency
• Build Software/Architectural Design and specifications for development environment
• Maintain the Existing SW Development Toolchain & Integrate new tools in our SW Factory
• Creating or updating existing scripts in Python
• Windows configuration and program installation
• Matlab and or Targetlink development
• Verification of defined technical solutions

Requirements, experiences needed:

• Experience as Product Owner.
• A genuine interest in Software Development and Tools is key
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written

• Experience with development with Matlab & Targetlink is a plus
• Knowledge in programming Python and scripting in Bash or similar is a plus
• Knowledge in programing embedded real time systems in C is a plus
• The work requires skills in both teamwork and individual work, autonomy, and ability to work in a team is key.
• Open-minded and pro-active, structured and a drive to take the lead is needed
• Possibility to lead discussions with stakeholder to collect the business need.
• Experience of leading and motivating teams to deliver value to the customers.
• Previous Experience in Automotive software development toolchains will be highly valued
