QA Tester to Volvo Group Design System

The design system Core team is looking for an experienced QA Tester to work closely with our designers, web and mobile developers on multiple platforms and brands.
Working in a small Core team the responsibilities include test planning, execution, reporting, compliance and documentation and cross-checking component appearance and behavior across platforms and devices (configurations/screen sizes/software versions and different use cases) to secure consistency.
Apart from ensuring that colors, light and dark themes, paddings, fonts and other visual/behavioral aspects of the components are implemented across multiple brands according to the design specifications – we also need to test in multiple languages (for tendencies to break components, introduce more line breaks). Below are expectations of support from designers and developers in the team.

Design:
• Review requirements, specifications, technical design documents.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
• Support in managing functional mailbox.

Development: Web
• Test planning: Enhance and formalize the overall testing strategy.
• Test development: Create test cases and scenarios within Storybook/Chromatic.
• Test execution: Perform manual and automated tests in conjunction between bi-weekly releases, including to ensure we meet our accessibility targets.
• Documentation: Maintain and ensure correctness in technical documentation.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and reproduce issues, support in managing functional mailbox.

Development: iOS
• Writing and maintaining UI snapshot tests, and test manually on real devices where we don't have automated test coverage.
Development: Android
• More thorough tests on top of AndroidJunit4.
Development: React Native
• Test in Jest.

Must have:
• 5+ years of Experience in Web UI & Mobile Automation Testing.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies, software testing principles, and testing techniques.
• Strong Knowledge on Object Oriented Programming (OOPS) Concepts.
• Good Knowledge on Page Object Model.
• Hands-on experience in building automation framework and in developing automation scripts.
• Must have experience with Git or GitHub.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot defects.
• Should possess good communication skill.
• Fluent in English.
• Should be a good team player and should also be able to work independently.

Good to have:
• Domain knowledge: Previous experience working with Design Systems.
• Knowledge on Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline and/or Jenkins.
• Previous exposure to UI testing automation and E2E tests with tools such as Appium, Selenium, AndroidJunit4, Jest, Storybook & Chromatic.
• Familiarity with CI tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
