Technical Prototype Buyer/Prototype Supplier Quality Engineer (A unique opportunity for the business oriented engineer!)

This is what you are going to do
You, our hopefully soon to be colleague, will be one of our buyers/Prototype Supplier Quality Engineer, taking the lead in driving Prototype Purchasing within Product Builds, Volvo Group Trucks Technology. With your experience from Automotive preferably from a position like Cost engineer, Product developer, Buyer or SQE you will bring value for our work with purchasing prototype parts for Heavy Duty Truck/Transport solutions. Your stakeholders are mainly based in Gothenburg, and your suppliers are based in the Nordic region.

We buy more and more complex mechanical parts, so your experience from e.g.: sheet metal, casting etc. would be most beneficial for us. We believe you are a technical person but with a commercial interest as well as interest in quality assurance.

Most of your time will be spent working as a technical buyer, but l now and then you will work as a back up for our Prototype Supplier Quality Engineer. That means that you will inspect our prototypes when arriving in our goods reception. Ocularly you will check and control with some measurement tools, that the parts received are corresponding to the technical documentation.

The split of these two roles will be approximately 80/20.

• Former experience in Purchasing/Product development/Quality for casted parts/sheet metal ( + 5 years), technical background and automotive experience are considered as assets
• You have a driver’s license for car.
